Working With Us: Associate NMH Roles (HE)
I’m building a small, ethical network of self-employed associate practitioners supporting Higher Education students through non-therapeutic specialist mentoring and study support. Some work is funded via Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA).

- Specialist Mental Health Mentor
- Specialist Mentor – Neurodiversity (Autism / ADHD)
- Specialist Study Skills Tutor (SpLD)
Essential requirements
- Self-employed status (or ready to work self-employed) including UTR.
- Professional registration/membership appropriate to role (e.g. NMC RMN, BACP, QTS).
- Insurance: Professional Indemnity + Public Liability covering in-person HE delivery.
- Enhanced DBS (current or willing to obtain).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to travel and provide in-person support within your stated areas.
This role is not suitable if you are seeking
- Employment / PAYE work
- Remote-only delivery
- Therapy / counselling / clinical practice
- Diagnostic or crisis work
- Teaching or curriculum delivery
How the associate process works
- Step 1: Submit the Expression of Interest form.
- Step 2: If progressed, we’ll arrange a short values-based conversation.
- Step 3: Compliance checks (membership, insurance, DBS, right to work).
- Step 4: Onboarding (scope, safeguarding, escalation, documentation).
- Step 5: Work allocation based on fit, location, and availability.
